Meet the Designer

Journey

Soham completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, but he felt it wasn't his true calling. Post a short break to work at his family clothing retail store in Surendranagar, he realized he wanted to hone his skills in the field of fashion. He then pursued a course at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar, followed by working with Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), an NGO based out of Ahmedabad. Eventually he joined Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York to gain an understanding of how the global industry works. He then returned to Ahmedabad and established his eponymous label in India in 2011.

Design- a way of life

Right from his early days, Soham had a keen eye for fashion, which gradually grew as an undying passion. Childhood memories of the black paddle of a sewing machine; and Ghana Kaka - his family tailor, lingers vividly in his memories until today. As a curious child he used to stand right in front of him for hours, watching him operate the black machine with the seesawing paddle.

Even though, clothes were no longer stitched by family tailors for every occasions and season, design and aesthetics continued to fascinate Soham as he grew up. It became a way of life for him.
